Global Search - Settings

Field filter

Field filters determine which fields (field types or field names) are used for search. In this list you can add, remove or edit field-filter and sort in order.

After adding a new filter, the dialog "Edit Field Filter" opens. Here you can select items from the list "Available field types / field names" and take over in list "search in these fields".
When you confirm the dialog with "OK", the search filter is added to the list and thus can be used by all search windows.

Source filter

Source filters determine in which data sources and in which order the search is to be done. In this list you can add, remove or edit source filter and sort in order.

After adding a new filter, the dialog "Edit Source Filter" opens. Here you can select one or more sources in the list "Available Sources" and take over to "Used Sources" . To define the search order of the sources, you can sort the list of "Used Sources".
Give the filter a name, and if necessary, select an appropriate icon. When you confirm the dialog with "OK", the search filter is added to the list and thus can be used by all search windows.

Create new search window

To create a new search window, use the appropriate button.

Search window - Settings

Start search automatically as you type: If this option is enabled, matching search results are displayed as you type the search term. Otherwise, the search is started by pressing the Enter key.

Limit the number of search results to: This value determines the maximum number of search results that are displayed in the hit list.

Actions when Enter or double-click: Sets the default action that is executed when Enter or double-click in the list of search results.
